Financial assistance for emergency vet care

For many, caring for a beloved pet after an accident, injury, or unexpected illness may be more than they can afford. Sometimes this results in euthanasia of the animal or turning the animal in to a shelter. For those owners who qualify, PPNAZ can help defray some of those costs from a fund supported by the Arizona Community Foundation and private donations. PPNAZ works with specific local veterinarians in these situations. For more information about this program, call 928-699-7586.

This program also assists the Coconino Humane Association (CHA) when it is faced with adoptable animals with treatable medical conditions. For example, CHA is unable to take in animals with upper respiratory infections and mange because these diseases, though treatable medically, are highly contagious. This program provides funds for medication so these animals can be placed in foster care while being treated and then put up for adoption when they are healthy.
